Bandipora hamlet in Kashmir is slated to grow to be the nation's largest book village.
Aragam hamlet in the Bandipora area of North Kashmir has the potential to surpass all others as the nation's largest book village. The Jammu and Kashmir administration will work on this alongside Sarhad, a non-governmental organization based in Pune.
In coordination with the J-K government, the NGO has filed a plan that has been considered with the district administration to establish a book village in Aragam village.
An NGO representative explained why the organization chose the Aragam hamlet, saying that it is situated in a beautiful area where the beauty of nature may calm visitors' thoughts as well as inspire more creativity and prompt them to consider life's big questions.
Aragam is the only location in Kashmir that can be compared to it, he continued, and it has enormous potential to develop into a community and cultural village where the region's unmatched natural beauty can motivate people to explore Kashmiri literature and its rich history in addition to experiencing an amazing culture.
People will have additional possibilities to explore while enjoying books in this location, which is rife with artistic and literary inspiration thanks to its scenic beauty, cultural diversity, and countless trout fishing spots.
The NGO official elaborated further, saying that the concept of the book village is not entirely original and that it will transform the location into a special tourist attraction where visitors can learn about ancient and modern literature, Kashmir's history, and its folk culture up close.
The NGO went on to say that tourists will virtually always be able to find books and places to read them at their leisure.
In essence, it will be a hamlet with displays of historic manuscripts, paintings, and artifacts from Kashmir, as well as books both new and old that may be read and studied. It will be a village that will also feature folk culture.
The library complex would contain a main building with a large library for the community and literary professionals to use regularly. The library will initially have Urdu, English, Kashmiri, Hindi, Marathi, and Bengali volumes. Click here to more destination
