A high-altitude area called Lahaul Valley is situated between the Pir Panjal Range and the Himalayas. The confluence of the Chandra and Bhaga rivers, which meet at Tandi close to Keylong, the administrative center of the Lahaul-Spiti region, creates the valley. Due to the valley's high mountains, snow-capped summits, glaciers, and rivers, it is renowned for its visual beauty. Keylong, the largest settlement in Lahaul Valley, serves as a base for trekking and climbing adventures into the nearby mountains.
The Lahaul Valley has a gentler climate and is also greener than Spiti, which is known for being a cold desert region. Khoksar is the first village you will see as you enter Lahaul Valley.
Khoksar, which frequently experiences avalanches, can be a very challenging location in the winter, but the village is breathtaking in the summer. Khoksar is transformed into a picturesque location with alpine bloom-covered meadows and numerous water systems.
There are many beautiful locations in Lahaul Valley. The villages of Sissu, Gondhla, Tandi, Gushal, Jispa, Darcha, Udaipur, the district seat of Keylong, Lady of Keylong, and the alpine lakes Chandrataal and Suraj Taal are the most well-known.
Where is Lahaul Valley located?
Previously, the Rohtang Pass served as our lifeline, but now that the Atal Tunnel has been constructed beneath it, we may access Lahaul-Spiti via it. In Lahaul-Spiti, the tunnel connects Keylong to Manali.
